Why I can’t Live without my Personal Assistant

jenn note 3

Ok Mamas… we are all busy women. There are tons of things we need to do in one 24 hour period and staying organized is a big one. In order to keep on top of everything, there are a few items I cannot live without, I wanted to share one of those things with you today.  My cell phone. As much as I hate to say it, my cell phone is a priority tool for my day to day activities. Not only is it a cell phone and a cool toy – it is the one and only Samsung Galaxy Note III. This baby brought a whole new world to my life. As a busy mama of three littles, full-time nursing student, C.E.O and C.F.O of the Thomsen Household, I hold a lot of responsibility in that small window of 24 hours.

My Note III allows me to stay on top of it all. It starts by acting as my alarm in the morning. I have several settings to make sure I don’t sleep past 5:00 a.m on my clinical days. Yes, you read that… 5 A.M. It has amazingly calm tones to wake up to, which for me is essential. Who wanted to be jarred awake by some harsh noise? So many years of ridiculously annoying alarm tones could really send me over the edge. My Note III acts as a personal assistant when I have appointments, tasks and notifications set up to alert me for email, Facebook and even a program we use for school known as Blackboard. I can pay my bills, utilize two different browser types based on preference (Google Chrome or Internet Explorer), check accounts, take pictures, listen to music, get directions to locations and can download any application that other phones can. All of these features have been a miracle and made my life SO much easier.

I used to think that I wanted an iPhone, but after this gem was introduced to me I wouldn’t bat an eye in another direction. I am also beyond obsessed with photography and it has an amazing 13.0 megapixel camera that allows me to take pretty awesome photographs and video recordings for those special little moments. I also sell items on ebay and I list and sell items from the eBay app directly from my phone. My newest find is the ability to print items wirelessly directly from my phone to my printer. And with as much as we print in the nursing program, not having to jump on my laptop every 5 seconds is a time saver.

All in all it truly is my amazing go to product. As much as I hate to depend on technology, this all in one is too awesome not to.

What devices do you use to keep organized??

Think of me when you get your Note 4 (which just came out) and fall in LOVE!

Peace, love and chicken grease,

The Naturalist Mama

  1. I don’t know why but I’ve always been a pen + paper kinda girl. I make my own little planner out of a cute notebook and write down the dates myself. It’s silly but it works!

  2. I love my iphone, but I’m super jealous of that camera! 😉

  3. my husband and I are due to renew our contracts the beginning of next year. We’re debating now about what phones we’d like to get. we both love our iphone 4s and thought about going to the 5s but this post makes me consider this phone

Not silly at all! I have a day planner and a calender. Nothing better than back up and a general area where everyone can be aware whats going on. This just happens to be my favorite little piece of technology. It truly is amazing in all aspects and Apple has copied Samsung with the newer iPhones, contrary to previous years. Enjoy!!!

  5. My aunt has this phone and swears by it. One of my friends just switched phone companies and switched phones as well. She is just as pleased

  6. I’m not a momma, just a ditzy star-gazer sometimes, and my iPhone does the same for me. I need to start calling it my assistant! Lol. I agree with Heather, though – the galaxy camera is something wicked amazing!

  7. I haven’t been able to find a great app to keep me organized, so I’m still old school…paper and pencil.

  8. Nursing student and mama of 3? Wow, I’m impressed. I’m a pretty organized person (on most days) but I typically use my planner to keep me that way. I am starting to use my phone more and I’m in the market for a new one, so I may have to check out the Note 4.

  9. I love my Galaxy S5. We have a note but the hubs is hogging it up and wont’ share. :). But yes,I prefer Samsung over Apple any day!

  10. I always thought the iPhone was the best phone ever, even through the ownership of a Windows phone and an HTC phone. Hubby bought me a Note 3 and it is the best phone ever! I can do so much of my blogging tasks with it. I love, love, love it!
