A Letter to my Little Loves

A Letter to my Little LovesDear child,

If you just sat still long enough, you’d know that it’s ok to close your eyes. You fight so hard, but I understand. If I could see the world through your eyes, again, I would never want to sleep either. Everything has so much to offer you, to teach and learn, to be a part of and hope for. The days are short and the nights are forever but the sun cannot wait to entertain you once again.

If I were to write you a “how to in life” this is what I would say: I would tell you that running barefoot, creating havoc and being mischievous is 100% normal. It is what you are supposed to do. Getting dirty and playing make believe is something you should always take with you. And while Mama may get frustrated with you, it’s perfectly ok- you are learning and so is she. Daddy works hard so that your life is not. Your siblings may touch your things when you don’t want them too, but feel blessed you have them, they will be your partners for life.

Give everything you got with everything you do, because passion in life is everything. Without it we die, even when we are alive. No matter what anyone says, you can do anything you want to. Love and faith WILL carry you through some of the hardest days you are faced with. Be honest, even when it’s hard to be. It’s easy to lie, but I will tell you now- life is not meant to be easy. The truth burns for a little while, lies are never forgotten. Integrity is everything. Anything that requires hard work and perseverance is worth the having.

Guard your heart but love intensely. It’s the only way. Know your self-worth, always. You are worth more than the sun, moon and all the stars in the sky. Don’t you ever forget. Respect moves mountains. Cherish the days that drag on forever, we only see that day once. Know that tomorrow is not promised to you, so make the most of the moment you are in. Be kind. Everything is not about you. Manners go a long way, use them. You will lose at many things in life and that’s a great thing. We are not meant to be perfect. No expectations, no disappointments. Share your smile. You are an inspiration, even if you don’t know it. Be little.

You are loved beyond measurement and without doubt.

You are my arrow.
