Ever since going back to a traditional 9 to 5 job, it is never easy being away from Monkey all day. I look forward to picking him up each day from daycare, because even after nearly 3 months, I am not used to being away from him all day. I cherish every moment we share together. Even more so when Daddy can find the time to do fun family things.
Like many working families, the weekends are time to spend time together as a family. During the week, the schedules are crazy between school, work, and keeping everyone, especially the kids on a constant schedule. Monkey and I get home from work/school at around 5 o’clock. Daddy comes home at around 6:30-7 o’clock. Then Monkey is usually in bed between 8-8:30. Unfortunately, that does not leave us a lot of time to spend together as a family. This makes the weekends that much more enjoyable.
Living in Maryland, I absolutely love the change of seasons, especially fall. It is not too warm, nor too cold and I cannot wait for the leaves to change. I do not like when they fall because that means I spend hours in the yard. With that being said, I love to find family fall activities, that we can all participate in. I decided to create a fall bucket list for toddlers. Hopefully, I will get to cross everything off the list!
Just recently we attended a fall festival at a local garden nursery. The fall festival had a GIANT corn maze, hay tractor ride, petting zoo, cow train for the kids, a large jumping pillow, corn kernel boxes, and of course pumpkins! Monkey had an amazing time, with his favorite experience was petting the miniature horse and the hay tractor ride. The corn maze was a little challenging, as the ground was muddy, due to the recent rain, but together as a family, we made it out!
These are the moments that I will cherish the most, spending time together as a family. These special moments are far and few between with our busy schedule, but it is very important to schedule in family time. Our next family fall adventure will be going to an apple orchard and hiking a mountain. I am very lucky to live where there are many great fall things to check off of my fall bucket list!
It doesn’t matter what activity you do, as long as you are together as a family. That is the most important thing. You can even make running errands into a fun activity. Incorporating your kids and make a game out of it. Working families have it very tough. Be sure to cherish the time you have with your kids, because in a blink of an eye, they are off to college. Don’t be afraid to document every adventure you share as a family, not to mention it could make for some good embarrassing moments in the future!
