So, today my 15 month old daughter decided to climb / fall out of her crib!
This is not something she has been practicing, and completely caught my husband and I off guard. We felt that we had no other option but to convert her crib into a toddler bed.
If any of you mommies out there have not had to transition your toddler from a crib to a toddler bed yet, THIS will truly test your limits.
To me the toddler bed is an enemy, and I will defeat it!
My daughter went to bed at her normal time, but quickly realized that she had complete freedom. She was in and out of her bed for two and a half hours.
My husband read about how to deal with transitioning a toddler from a crib to a toddler bed, and decided that we would do the “silent treatment”. We put the baby gate at her door, and laid her down like normal. Every time she got up and came to the door, one of us would silently pick her up and put her back into bed and walk out. We did this over, and over, and over again. As I started to lose faith in the “silent” approach, my husband stepped in and took over! He literally climbed over that baby gate a hundred plus times putting our daughter in bed. Tomorrow we are getting a Walk Thru Baby Gate ugh!
Anyway, it finally worked, and we both feel like we have just won our first MMA fight! How exhausting!
I am not looking forward to “nap time” tomorrow.
As you know by now from reading my previous blogs, I am a stay at home / work from home mom. I count on nap time to get my work done. My fear is I will not get this precious time tomorrow! I do not have the strength that my husband does.
The baby must not WIN!!!
Is it wrong for him to call out of work just to be here for nap time?!?!
I say that jokingly, but am seriously contemplating it!
Wish me luck ladies…I am sure I will need it!
