Am I the only mom who dreads bath time? I sure feel like I am! My child loves to take a bath. She loves water, period. Me on the other hand, I dread that time of night. Sitting on a little stool in the bathroom, hunched over like an old lady.
As soon as I say “bath time” she gets super excited “a bath, a bath!” and runs over to the stairs to go up to her bathroom. She loves it. She could sit in there forEVER! She has little yellow ducks, some colorful boats and these cup things that water flows through them. She plays with the ducks, which looks more like she’s trying to drown them. She hugs her toys and kisses the ducks. Meanwhile, I am sitting there trying to hurry up and wash her. Stand up, turn around, sit down, arms up..etc.
Then there is washing her hair. It’s definitely easier now, but it wasn’t so easy when we first started using this dermatologist shampoo. I CANNOT get it in her eyes. Made that mistake twice. My girl is a trooper and I didnt even realize it had gone in her eye until I was getting her out and she looked like she had pink eye and was rubbing it. Luckily, someone told me about this faucet cover thing that kind of makes the water like a waterfall when its on. AND you can put bubble bath in it for when you are filling the tub and it will drip into the spout when you push this little button…pretty neat but off subject. I have to wash her hair, carefully, then lean her back to rinse it under this cool gadget so I don’t get it in her eyes. This means my arm is behind her to keep her from falling…so now my arm is wet and my back hurts and it’s hot in the bathroom. She doesn’t like to lean back for long, so I have to get that shampoo out as fast as humanly possible. Then hunching over to dry her off, quickly, because now she’s freezing…and i am sweating. I know she loves it, and it’s definitely a necessity, but I dread bath time. Daddy on the other hand, likes it. He doesn’t mind sitting all hunched over and playing with her. So, when he is home…it is his job. That is all…
