As I sat and watched my baby girl play today, I realized she is NOT a baby anymore! It breaks my heart, she is growing up way too fast! Throughout the day, I have been looking back at pictures from January and on. It’s amazing to see how much she really has grown up in the past 7 months, even in the way she looks.
I speak to my daughter most of the time like she is an adult. Of course we have our silly times, but when it’s just us, it’s not baby talk. She has started repeating me, and she’s learning what some of those words mean! I have also started teaching her a few words in Spanish. I don’t know many words, so eggs and milk are what we have started with. My husband has been learning some basic Spanish because that is the language they speak where he works. When he is home, he is teaching her some of the things that he knows. Kids really are like little sponges, it’s amazing!
Now when we walk through the grocery store, she is able to point things out and tell me what they are. Today we walked down the beer isle and she points and screeches “BEER!”. Of course, we taught her beer. Its just so darn cute! Its even funnier when you are sitting in Tijuana flats next to a table of 6+ construction workers and your baby girl points to the ceiling and says very loudly “BEER!” because of the drawings on the ceiling. LOL. Of course, they all chuckled too, and I probably turned 15 shades of red!
It is very bittersweet know that my baby is not a baby anymore. I am amazed at her growth and development; she amazes me daily. On the other hand, I am sad that the baby stage is gone. I wish I could just turn back time to when I brought her home, and have a few more cuddle sessions!
