February 21st was my Boca baby shower, which was hosted by my amazingly talented mom. My brother was just released from the hospital, after a week long stay, to say my mom was stressed was an understatement. I, along with two family members, flew into town on February 20th and my mom was prepping for our arrival, in addition to the baby shower and getting my brother settled home from the hospital.
I walk into my parent’s house, after arriving from the airport, and tables were already set up. It was absolutely beautiful. Baby M’s nursery is nautical theme, so we decided to extend that same theme to the baby shower. My mom found whale party goods from Party City, which I loved. She set up tables in the dining room for lunch.
On the day of the party, I received a much needed pedicure. I came home and it was time for the baby shower. Family and friends started arriving and they were all very happy to see me and of course rub my belly.
The afternoon started off with a couple of games. The first game was to drawer what Baby M would look like on a paper plate, and then I had to pick the winner. Some of the drawings were hysterical, even brought me to tears, as I was laughing so much! Another game was to diaper a baby, which each team was given a roll of toilet paper and stickers, and then we had to diaper a teammate. The final game of the day was to figure out what items were in the diaper bag. My mom filled the diaper bag with all essential baby items and a rhinestone flask for me!
After lunch, it was time for cake, which was from Publix, my favorite. If you know anything about Publix, you know their cakes are amazing! My mom went in with a napkin and they recreated the whale on the napkin for the cake. It was the most delicious cake, I have ever eaten. Mind you, Publix, also made my wedding cake, so you cannot go wrong.
To say Baby M is spoiled, is an understatement. I received a lot of nice gifts at my beautiful baby shower, which ranged from a stroller travel system to toys and clothes. Thankfully I packed an extra suitcase, to take all of the goodies home. I was very blessed to have everyone there to celebrate me and Baby M. I am lucky and blessed to have two baby showers, one in my hometown of Boca and one in Annapolis, which will be a coed shower on April 25th. Cannot wait for this little man to arrive to see how much he is loved by everyone in his life.
